Editing
WordsWorth Writing’s editors are members of their respective state and territory editing societies and most have been accredited by the Institute of Professional Editors. They understand and can successfully apply the principles of editing set out in Australian Standards for Editing Practice, which covers the knowledge and skills expected of experienced editors.
Our editors will review your documents from your audience’s perspective to ensure that their structure, expression and design reflect your intentions. They will edit your documents using your organisation’s style guide or style sheets they develop for you. They are particularly familiar with the principles set out in the Style manual, sixth edition, which was prepared for the Australian Government, and they work to well-established and documented procedures and systems.
Our editing services include:
- document review
- substantive and copy edits
- proofreading.
Depending on the level of service required, we make sure the content of your document is:
- presented logically and clearly, without repetition, redundancies and irrelevant material
- free of grammar, spelling and punctuation errors
- consistent in the use of language and terminology
- consistent in visual presentation (including references, headings and typography)
- written in plain English.
